Upcoming Exhibitions

New York: I was invited as one of 7 of East Village Boy's favourite artists in association with the Queer New York International Arts Festival & Impossible Project to interpret the idea of 'for personal use', returning to the roots and origin of the polaroid!

---------------
"Once upon a time horny boys, pornography dilettantes, sneaky voyeurs and slutty exhibitionists, the curious and the depraved, and queers of all types were all confined to instant photography to document their private activities and tastes in all things less than appropriate (if not downright illegal at the time) for the local film developing counter. Since the deluge of digital technologies, keeping (or publishing) our secrets has never been easier, but somewhere along the way it has sadly became less counterculture, less deviant, and a lot less titillating.

As part of the Queer New York International Arts Festival, East Village Boys is inviting seven of their favorite artists to help rectify this problem, for an exhibit entitled 'For Personal Use'. They will be arming them with Polaroids and instant film, and asking them to photograph whatever it is they do in private for, with, or to themselves—or with whomever they like to do it. The artists will include well-know and emerging photographers, musicians, performance artists, painters, and artists of all types."

London: My degree work at our graduation show at the London College of Communication alongside a few other degree shows. I'm presenting images via prints/book that explore the camera's role as a creator/curator of memories. The images are a collective of both created moments and 'real' intimacy, questioning the idea of staged vs. reality within photography. Come along if you're in New York or London! X
